Interested in joining the Operation Pawsible team?

We aren’t your average veterinary hospital — and we’re not looking for average.

Operation Pawsible was founded on the belief that helping others is both a privilege and a purpose. We’re here for people who care deeply, think differently, and show up each day because they understand WHY this work matters. We’re building a new model of accessible surgical care — one rooted in compassion, quality, and the conviction that doing good should feel good. If that feels like a paradigm shift you want to be part of, keep reading.

If you’re someone who doesn’t quite fit the standard mold — someone who values purpose, seeks personal growth, and thrives in an organized, collaborative environment where your voice genuinely matters — you’ll feel at home here. This is a place where your work has impact, your ideas shape the future, and your wellbeing is part of the mission. We believe caring for our team is just as essential as caring for every pet who walks through our doors. That means healthy boundaries, reasonable hours, and a deep respect for your life outside of work, as well as the financial compensation and benefits you deserve.

This is Operation Pawsible. Do you want to be part of it? If you’re reading this and feel that spark — even if you weren’t necessarily looking for a job — this may be your sign that you belong here.

Veterinary Assistant

WHY this role matters

At Operation Pawsible, we believe every pet deserves access to high‑quality surgical care — and that foundation starts with our veterinary assistants. Every veterinary professional deserves a workplace built on clarity and respect. Our assistants are the heartbeat of that mission from the client check-in — to giving extra snuggles for the anxious kitten — to providing superb medical care and careful anesthesia monitoring.

HOW we work

We operate with precision: We have detailed protocols and training in place to help grow/transition your skills to HQHVSN passion. You’ll be part of a small, highly trained team where your voice matters and your growth is supported. Expectations and communication are clear. The daily workflow and schedule provide structure for our workdays, but also allow flexibility when the unexpected happens.

WHAT you’ll do

  • Support high‑efficiency outpatient surgical care by assisting the LVT and Veterinarian.

  • Empathetic client communication throughout the day (we love texting!) Always begin with the assumption that every client wants what is best for their pet too.

  • Obtain and process lab samples, perform in-house diagnostics, administer vaccines, and implant microchips.

  • Assist with patient prep, monitoring, and recovery utilizing low-stress handling techniques.

  • Enter detailed and accurate data into patient’s medical records.

  • Maintain, clean, and organize our beautifully designed surgical facility.

  • Prepare, clean, and sterlize surgical instruments/packs. Perform QC checks as needed.

  • Must be eligible for Washington State Medical Clerk License to assist in preparing medications for patients.

  • Contribute ideas as we refine and grow our model

What we offer

  • Comptetive pay and bonus structure

    • Starting at $25$35/hr depending on experience and skills.

  • Generous paid time off (vacation, sick, holidays).

    • Paid holidays — We close on holidays that fall on a normal workday (up to 10 per year).

    • PTO for illness/recovery. Mental health is health, and if you need time off, we support you (and we don’t want your cooties…)

    • Additional PTO for vacation/flex time.

  • Reduced-cost veterinary care for your pets

    • We know that you care about your pets too and that veterinary care is expensive. If you have questions about specific services - just ask!

  • QSEHRA for tax-free reimbursement of medical expenses

    • Funds can be used to puchase individual Marketplace plans based on your needs (guidance and more information can be provided).

    • If you already have medical coverage through a family member, you can still utilize this benefit.

  • CE support

    • We value learning and your personal growth. Continuing education is provided in-house as well as encouraged from outside sources.

  • A culture built on boundaries, respect, and sustainable workloads.

  • A mission you can feel proud of every day

If you’re the kind of person who finds meaning in helping pets and people access care they otherwise couldn’t — you’ll thrive here.
